Welcome to learning through the power of football
Sunderland AFC Foundation, is the charity that harnesses the power of football and uses it to increase the motivation and educational attainment of young people throughout our great region.

Young people ages 4 to 19 can experience learning through the power of football with the Sunderland AFC Foundation in three ways:

1. If you are a teacher at a primary school book a day of fun and educational, interactive, multimedia activities at the Centre of Light in the Stadium of Light, the home of Sunderland Football Club. Follow-up learning resources are available on-line.

2. Hitch a ride on the Black Cat Express and have the Centre of Light experience come to you. Kickstart activities, projects and coaching will be delivered live at your school or agency.

3. Join our on-line learning community. Here at www.safceducation.com you’ll find learning resources to suit everyone – whether you’re working with 4 year olds or 19 year olds.

2004 sees the launch of leading edge, interactive, multimedia educational resources at the Centre of Light. Learning with the Sunderland AFC Foundation isn’t just about having fun.  The learning resources for Key Stages 1 and 2 are cross referenced to show how they link into different areas of the curriculum and those for young people are mapped against the requirements of leading accreditation bodies such as ASDAN and Getting Connected. New activities for Family learners will for the first time provide a framework for families to learn together through the power of football.
